Future Technology

Future Technology

Technology is advancing more and more every day. From Atari to Wii, the possibilities are endless. Have you ever wondered how much more advanced technology will become? It seems like anything humanly possible to create, has already been created. However, this is not the case. In the next 10, 20 or even 100 years, our lifestyles and our next generations’ lifestyles appear to be completely different.

The primary prediction for the next 5 years is that the high cost of power and space will shift to computing as a cloud resource. Cloud computing services will compare to mainframe service bureaus. Amazon’s EC2 is an example of a cloud service bureau. Cloud computing will reduce the need to compute at the enterprise level.

By 2018, nobody will notice that half the population is cyborg. A human/machine will be walking with the common man giving voice/whisper commands, using earbud audio and an eyeglass display for a machine to view the world as an ordinary person.

In at least 20 years, you will never have a glitch or error on your computer again. Computers will only take a few seconds to start up, a webpage will open automatically without any waiting. There will no longer be an hourglass icon! Imagine how beneficial this new technology will be!

In the next 30 years, you will never forget anything ever again. Sounds ridiculous right? A PDA device will capture videos and audio from your daily experiences. If someone tells you to do them a favour, you will no longer disappoint them because it has all been captured.

Imagine your teacher telling you to put on your “smart glasses”. These glasses will project a keyboard in the air, take constant video, will know location awareness, facial recognition, voice interaction, includes sound input, and multi touch screens. This technology will make laptops an oldschool gadget.

Google has already advanced tremendously the past few years, however they have more genius upcoming plans. Some day if you’re walking in the forest and spot a pretty flower you don’t know the name of, finding out will be fairly easy. All you will have to do is take a picture, upload to Google, then they will tell you what kind of flower it is. Or you can scan an unknown thing, upload it, then Google will find out all the information for you. This will amazingly also indentify, cars, buildings, and even people!

In 10 years, every human will be monitored and tracked by the government. This gadget will be known as LoJack. LoJack can be implanted for personal safety. LoJack will also recognize faces and include a digital voice recorder embedded in our drivers’ licenses. Privacy will be impossible to obtain soon.

In 10 years, trying to connect to a network by a phone or laptop will be old-fashioned. This annoying problem will no longer occur. Our devices will automatically connect when are turned on.

By 2018, connecting with a friend online or in person will not be different. Geo-location, pictures, notes, and video will be automatically filed away. You can access something that happened by searching on your own personal store. This will be life-altering when it comes to online relationships.

To some, this way of upcoming life seems intimidating, while others are anticipating the significant changes. All of these new inventions are meant to make our life a little easier, but this worries me as to how, and why life will need these inventions in order to function properly. Future life seems to be tremendously complicated.
